Biography
Shingo Yoshida (b. 1974, Tokyo)
Shingo Yoshida graduated with highest honors from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Art, Villa Arson, in Nice, France, with a Master of Arts degree in 2004.
He continued his post-graduate studies in France, earning a diploma in 2005 from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon. In 2007,
he achieved another post-graduate diploma from the La Seine program at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris.
Yoshida has completed several prestigious international artist residencies, notably at Villa Arson in Nice, France.
He was also the recipient of the Fellowship of the Overseas Study Programme for Artists, awarded by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of the Japanese Government.
His work has been exhibited internationally at various esteemed venues, including « the Palais de Tokyo in Paris » ,
« the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) in Santiago, Chile », and in the « Based in Berlin » exhibition, curated by Klaus Biesenbach, Christine Macel, and Hans Ulrich Obrist.
In 2017, Yoshida was invited to present his films and photographs—works created in Siberia, Russia—at « the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP23) » .
These pieces have been acquired by the Art Collection of the Ministry of Environment in Germany ».
Yoshida's film works have been collected by several notable Berlin institutions, including « the Berlinische Galerie » ,« the Akademie der Künste » , and « Fluentum » as of 2016.
In 2022, his art was included in the French public collection « FRAC - SUD »
The year 2023 saw his works enter the public collections of « the Gunma Museum of Art in Tatebayashi, Japan »; « the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, Germany »; and « The New York Public Library ».

"Seeking Hidden -
I create works that focus on the daily life, culture, traditions, myths, and interactions with nature of people from various lands, as well as the powerlessness of humans.
Life is ephemeral.
What's important is how we live in the present, the process, and preserving those memories in my work.
My creations evolve and grow with the times."

"À la recherche de l'Invisible -
Je crée des œuvres qui se concentrent sur la vie quotidienne, la culture, les traditions, les mythes et les interactions avec la nature des peuples de diverses terres, ainsi que sur l'impuissance des humains.
La vie est éphémère.
