The year 2013, when this work was created, was also a time when drones, previously used for military purposes, began to become popular as common toys. My work is intended to reflect the zeitgeist of that year.

​

This video captures the flight of a carrier pigeon over the city of Nice, France. Released along the coastline, the carrier pigeon, equipped with a mini camera, makes its way back to the inland, offering us glimpses of new natural and urban landscapes.

The pigeon, released from a harbor located on the coastline and equipped with a mini camera on its chest, returns to its home in the inland. Thanks to the encounter and generous cooperation of Mr. Ferrandez, a carrier and racing pigeon enthusiast, it was possible to conduct several technical tests over two months. This video captures the pigeon's flight, presenting us with views of nature and cityscapes from a new perspective.

For the pigeon's owner, Mr. Ferrandez, the questions of which route his pigeons would take and how they would return have always been significant. For carrier and racing pigeons, why they choose certain routes, why they compete, or why they deviate from the course, all depend on the motivation to return to their pigeon loft.

Is it the attachment to their place of birth? Or is it the assurance of daily feed? Or perhaps to reunite with their partner? The answers to these questions remain a secret to this day.

L'année 2013, lorsque cette œuvre a été créée, était également une période où les drones, auparavant utilisés à des fins militaires, ont commencé à devenir populaires comme jouets courants. Mon travail a pour but de refléter l'air du temps de cette année-là.

Cette vidéo capture le vol d'un pigeon voyageur au-dessus de la ville de Nice, en France. Lâché le long du littoral, le pigeon voyageur, équipé d'une mini caméra, retourne à l'intérieur des terres, nous offrant un aperçu de nouveaux paysages naturels et urbains.

Le pigeon, relâché depuis un port situé sur le littoral et équipé d'une mini caméra sur sa poitrine, retourne à sa maison dans les terres. Grâce à la rencontre et à la coopération généreuse de M. Ferrandez, un passionné de pigeons voyageurs et de pigeons de course, il a été possible de réaliser plusieurs tests techniques sur deux mois. Cette vidéo capture le vol du pigeon, nous présentant des vues de la nature et des paysages urbains sous un nouvel angle.

Pour le propriétaire du pigeon, M. Ferrandez, les questions de savoir quelle route ses pigeons emprunteraient et comment ils retourneraient ont toujours été significatives. Pour les pigeons voyageurs et de course, pourquoi ils choisissent certains itinéraires, pourquoi ils concourent, ou pourquoi ils s'écartent du parcours, tout dépend de la motivation de retourner à leur pigeonnier.

Est-ce l'attachement à leur lieu de naissance ? Ou est-ce l'assurance d'une alimentation quotidienne ? Ou peut-être pour retrouver leur partenaire ? Les réponses à ces questions restent un secret à ce jour.

この作品を作った2013年は、軍用であったドローンが一般的な玩具として流行り始めた時期でもあります。私の作品は、その年の時代背景を映し出すことを意図しています。

この動画はフランス・ニース市上空を飛行する伝書鳩の様子を捉えたもので、海岸線に沿って放たれた伝書鳩がミニカメラを装着して内陸部の自宅まで戻る姿を通じて、新たな自然や都市の風景を垣間見せてくれます。

港から放たれた鳩は、胸にミニカメラを装着され、内陸部にある自宅に戻ります。伝書鳩およびレース鳩愛好家であるフェランデス氏の出会いと寛大な協力により、2ヶ月間にわたる複数の技術テストを実施することができました。この動画は鳩の飛行中の様子を捉え、新しい視点から自然や都市の風景を私たちに見せてくれます。
鳩の飼い主であるフェランデス氏にとって、自分の鳩たちがどのようなルートを取り、どのように帰ってくるかは、常に大きな疑問でした。伝書鳩やレース用の鳩たちがどのルートを選ぶのか、なぜ競争をするのか、またはなぜコースを外れるのか、これらすべては鳩が自分の鳩小屋に戻る動機にかかっています。
その動機は出生地への愛着からくるものでしょうか、それとも毎日の餌が保証されている安心からでしょうか、あるいはパートナーに会いに行くためでしょうか？これらの質問に対する答えは、今もなお秘密に包まれています。

About the CARPET

Walking on the fluffy carpet, when you pause to observe the images adorning its surface, you realize that this abstract landscape is an essential element for the protagonist of the video: the feather of a bird. There lies the charm of levity and the decorative camouflage, revealing the feather's limitless poetic potential. Hidden within its central shaft are even broader aerial landscapes. As if we have no choice but to wander into them, we silently float above them while in flight.

En marchant sur le tapis moelleux, lorsque vous vous arrêtez pour observer les images qui ornent sa surface, vous réalisez que ce paysage abstrait est un élément essentiel pour le protagoniste de la vidéo : la plume d'un oiseau. Là réside le charme de la légèreté et le camouflage décoratif, révélant le potentiel poétique illimité de la plume. Cachés dans son axe central, il y a des paysages aériens encore plus larges. Comme si nous n'avions d'autre choix que de nous y perdre, nous flottons silencieusement au-dessus d'eux en plein vol.

ふわふわのカーペットを歩いていると、その表面に描かれたイメージが目を引きます。この抽象的な風景は、映像の主役である鳥の不可欠な要素、つまり羽根を示しています。羽根には、飛び立つ際の軽やかさや、迷彩としての魅力、装飾のような美しさがあり、無限の詩的な可能性を秘めています。その中心軸には、さらに広がる空の風景が隠されているのです。まるで、飛んでいる間に迷い込むしかないように、私たちはその上を静かに漂うのです。
